POUNDED YAM PRODUCTIONS

Pounded Yam Productions was born from a lifelong love of storytelling, stationery, and self-expression. What started at age 12 with a simple notebook quickly grew into a passion for creating meaningful, creative spaces through writing and design.

As the founder explored the world of stationery, it became clear that many designs followed a similar aesthetic, often centered around florals, pastels, and cutesy themes. While beautiful, they did not reflect her identity or cultural background. After building a community of like-minded creatives, she realized she was not alone in wanting something different.

With that, Pounded Yam Productions was created. Starting with just an iPad, quality paper, and a paper cutter, the brand began producing bold, vibrant stationery designed to reflect African culture and the diaspora. Today, the brand has grown beyond its at-home beginnings, partnering with manufacturers to deliver high-quality notebooks, bookmarks, stickers, and lifestyle accessories.

Despite this growth, every design remains hand-drawn and deeply personal. Each piece is a celebration of African heritage, showcasing the richness, diversity, and beauty of cultures that are often underrepresented in the stationery space.

Pounded Yam Productions stands for authenticity, creativity, and representation. It is more than a stationery brand. It is a platform that honors culture, supports real artistry, and brings unapologetically bold design into everyday life.
