Black Girl Vitamins is a Chicago based, 100% Black owned wellness brand founded in 2021 after co-founder Maxine Manager learned she was vitamin D deficient and had to fight a healthcare system that rarely looks closely at Black women. She built the company she went looking for: supplements formulated around the deficiencies that actually show up in Black women's bloodwork, backed by Black doctors and health experts. Every product is gluten free, soy free, and non-GMO, made without colorants or synthetic fillers, and priced to keep daily wellness within reach.

Black Girl Vitamins exists to close a health gap the supplement industry has largely ignored. Studies show a large majority of Black women are vitamin D deficient and Black women are significantly more likely to experience iron deficiency, yet mainstream formulas are rarely built with those realities in mind. BGV formulates for the deficiencies that show up most often in Black women, works with Black doctors and health experts, and pairs every product with plain language education so customers understand what they are taking and why.

The commitment extends past the bottle. BGV launched a 100,000 dollar scholarship fund to support Black women pursuing careers in medicine, addressing the physician representation gap that drives so many of these disparities in the first place. As a Black woman owned and operated company, BGV keeps ownership, formulation, and leadership in the hands of the community it serves.
