Cedella Marley Booker

Come Taste the flavors of the Islands

Smilin’ Island Foods is a brand of Caribbean style pepper sauces/hot sauces, seasonings, and ketchup from the recipes of Cedella Marley-Booker. Notably she is the mother of the world-renowned reggae artist, Bob Marley. Mother Booker was a singer, writer, and humanitarian who loved to give back to the less fortunate, so much so, that she created the 9 Mile Music Festival formerly the Bob Marley Festival over 25 years ago to feed the hungry; a donation of non-perishables is a part of the entrance fee. Her legacy of love and giving is carried on by her son Richard Booker our CEO. Richard established Smilin’ Island Foods because it was a dream of his mother’s and her cooking is of his fondest memories of her.
Our products are made from whole ingredients and spiced to capture the Taste of the Caribbean.
This brand has been in the works for over a decade and stemmed from the restaurants that were established in Jamaica. Mother Booker’s recipes is our way of bringing our home to yours as well as putting a little piece of the Caribbean on every table.

Cedella Marley-Booker’s Smilin’ Island Caribbean Style Sauces & Seasonings is a project that has been in the works for more than a decade. It was Mother B’s dream to share her recipes with the world; it’s a special way to remember her. Art lives in music and food; “Mother Booker” was a maestro in the kitchen. She cooked for the laborers when she was a little girl and cooked for those she loved her entire life. In the late 70’s Cedella Marley-Booker would take to heart the command of Jah and become Rasta. At this time she changed the eating habits of her family and began to serve wholesome vegetarian dishes.
